With regional strategies encouraging urban consolidation, landowners and developers are looking for ways to most efficiently utilise our land resources. CATO BOLAM can assist in assessing further development possibilities, whether it be a simple subdivision of the back yard or a comprehensive redevelopment for medium or high density housing. Our staff are conversant with all relevant council rules and guidelines, and can offer their own ideas about good ways to develop existing sites.
For the larger developments, CATO BOLAM has particular expertise in urban and rural structure planning, and subdivision design. Often, this expertise will be in advising clients of possibilities within the parameters set by local and regional councils through their various plans. At a more strategic level, CATO BOLAM planners may assist in reviewing objectives for the development of land, and suggesting new and better approaches - for instance through preparing and promoting district plan changes.
CATO BOLAM’S in-house skills are supplemented, where necessary, through associations with other specialist companies, for instance architects, geotechnical engineers and traffic engineering consultants.
